The Little Dollhouse Company

My aunt used to love making dollhouses, she even entered competitions. Now I’m not sure if she still makes them but by golly her house is like a dollhouse because the amount of work she puts her home, well I would say is about equal to the work she put into those dollhouses. I have always wondered where people get miniature things for their dollhouses. I assumed Toys R Us or Zellers would sell them, but I never imagined there would be a store dedicated to miniature items. Now this store is located in the Mount Pleasant Area and is the Canada’s oldest and largest dollhouse and miniature store, established in 1975 by Maria and John Fowler (however, the location is not the same as it was when it was first opened, in fact it moved to a bigger location which I believe is around 5000 sq. feet) . It is also the largest manufacturer/ retailer in North America of handmade miniatures. They even sell dollhouse kits which they make themselves. They also carry the brands: Bespaq, Reutter, Real Good toys and many more, for all you dolls and miniature lovers out there I bet you know what that means more than I do.

Now this place is intense there are so many miniature things! I have never been in all the way or browsed around, I’ve only peered in, but the reason it makes it on my list is because it is so unique – I mean I have never encountered a store like this in the city. Where else are you surrounded by little things? I mean if Borrowers existed I think they would take up resident in this store. However, I love it because it the most unique thing I have ever encountered in this city and that is
